Wisdom tooth removal Vienna
A wisdom tooth extraction becomes necessary when problems such as pain, infections or misaligned teeth occur. There is often not enough space in the jaw for them to grow, which can lead to pressure on neighbouring teeth.
It can also happen that wisdom teeth only partially erupt and thus favour inflammation. In some cases, they are removed as a preventative measure to avoid future complications. The decision to remove them is always based on a thorough examination.
Root end surgery
An apicoectomy is indicated if conventional root canal treatment is not sufficient to eliminate an inflammation at the root tip of a tooth. This may be the case if the inflammation recurs or does not completely subside after root canal treatment. The aim of the operation is to remove the centres of inflammation and preserve the affected tooth. The root tip of the tooth is surgically removed and the surrounding inflamed tissue is carefully cleared out. An apicoectomy is often used as a last resort to save a tooth from extraction.
Implantology
A dental implant is the highest quality replacement for your own tooth. It is an artificial tooth root made of titanium that connects to the bone. There are different areas of application: The treatment of single tooth gaps, as well as the treatment of missing all or several teeth next to each other (see for example All-on-4 and All-on-6).
Bone augmentation
Bone augmentation is necessary if there is not enough bone substance to securely anchor dental implants, for example after tooth loss or bone atrophy. This can also be the case if the jawbone has been damaged by periodontitis or other diseases.
Oral surgery under general anaesthetic
All oral surgery treatments can also be carried out under general anaesthetic on request. This is particularly popular for particularly extensive operations involving several dental implants or larger bone augmentations, and not only for anxious patients.

Frenulum of the lips or tongue that are set too low can not only be annoying, but also medically indicated. Cutting or lengthening the frenulum of the lip or tongue is a short procedure performed under local anaesthetic.
Surgical crown lengthening
This technique is used to lengthen remaining tooth stumps by removing the surrounding tissue to enable a prosthetic restoration with a crown, veneer or bridge.
Even if too much gum is visible when smiling (a so-called gummy smile), the removal of excess gum tissue can contribute to improved aesthetics.
