Aesthetic implantology

What is Aesthetic Implantology?

This refers to dental implants in the particularly visible area. Mostly this concerns the front upper teeth. For various reasons, such as accidents, prolonged root canal treatments or non-investments, it is necessary to replace an incisor or canine tooth with an implant.

What makes a good Implant?

Screwing a dental implant into bone is not especially complicated. What differentiates good implants from bad ones, however, is how the positioning of the implants is chosen  - especially in the case of highly visible front teeth. The surrounding bone and soft tissue must be designed in such a way that the implant is surrounded by healthy tissue in the long term.

Here are a couple of examples of successful treatments:

The first shows a missing left upper canine tooth and the treatment by means of bone augmentation and a dental implant

The second shows a missing right upper canine tooth and treatment by means of dental implant and bone grafting

The planning process.

The planning of these cases is very individual and many factors have to be taken into account, especially the anatomical conditions and the patient's requirements.

Sometimes this results in the need for additional bone or soft tissue augmentation.

We always try to avoid such measures or to keep them as minimal as possible.

However, measures that are necessary in the long term should not be avoided for reasons of comfort.

If desired by the patient, we are also happy to work with temporary crowns. These can be reshaped over time to give the soft tissues a particularly good shape. Once the patient is satisfied with the shape of the temporary implant crown, the final ceramic crown is fabricated.
